Agreeing to these terms

These terms cover your use of this website and any estimate or work you get from M&K Oceanside Insulation Company. When we say "we," "us" or "our," we mean M&K Oceanside Insulation Company and our crew. When we say "you," we mean the person using this site or hiring us.

By using this site, asking for an estimate or scheduling work with us, you agree to these terms. If you sign a written estimate or job agreement with us, that document controls wherever it differs from this page. If you don't agree with these terms, please don't use the site or book work with us.

What we do

We're an insulation contractor based in Oceanside, CA, and we work in homes and businesses in Oceanside and the cities around it. Our work includes attic insulation, blown-in insulation, spray foam, air sealing, insulation removal, crawl space insulation and vapor barriers. You can see the full list on our home page and read more about our crew on our About page.

We'll describe the work for your job in your written estimate. Anything not listed there isn't part of the job unless we both agree to add it.

Estimates and pricing

Our quotes are free, they're done on site, and you're under no obligation to hire us. Your estimate is based on what we can see and measure during the visit, like the size of the attic or crawl space, how much insulation is already up there and how easy it is to reach.

Some things only show up once the work starts, such as old insulation that's soaked or full of droppings, buried eave vents, damaged framing or wiring problems. If we find something that changes the work or the price, we'll stop, show you what we found and get your approval before we do anything extra.

Prices, descriptions and examples on this website are general information. They aren't a quote or an offer, and only a written estimate from us sets the price for your job.

Scheduling, access and cancellation

We'll agree on a start date with you and do our best to keep it. Weather, material supply, illness or a job running long can push a date back, and if that happens we'll tell you as soon as we know and set a new time.

On the day of the job, we need clear access to the work area, like the attic hatch, the crawl space opening or the walls we're insulating. Please keep kids and pets away from the work area. For spray foam jobs, you and everyone in the house need to follow the re-entry time we give you, which is how long to stay out before coming back inside.

If you need to cancel or reschedule, call us or use our Contact page as early as you can. If we've already ordered materials or set aside a crew for your job, your written agreement may say what costs you'd owe when you cancel.

Payment

Your written estimate or agreement will say how much you owe, when it's due and which payment methods we take. Please pay on the schedule it sets.

If a payment is late, we may pause work until the balance is paid, as far as California law allows. We keep any rights California law gives contractors to collect payment for work that's been done.

Our guarantee and warranties

Our work is backed by our satisfaction guarantee. If something about our workmanship isn't right, tell us and we'll come back, take a look and work with you to fix it under the terms in your agreement.

Insulation, foam and vapor barrier products often come with their own warranty from the maker. We'll pass along any maker's warranty that applies, but those warranties come from the maker, not from us.

Apart from our satisfaction guarantee, what's written in your agreement and any maker's warranty, we don't give other warranties, express or implied, as far as the law allows. Insulation usually makes a house more comfortable and can lower the power bill, but comfort and savings depend on things we don't control, like your HVAC system, windows, how you use the house and the weather, so we don't promise a specific result.

Limits on our liability

As far as California law allows, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses tied to our work or this website, such as lost use of your home, lost income or higher utility costs. Our total liability for any job is limited to the amount you paid us for that job.

We aren't responsible for problems that were already in the house before we started, like roof leaks, pest damage, mold, moisture or old wiring, though we'll tell you if we spot them. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that can't be limited under California law.

Using this website

The information on this site is general and may change without notice. It isn't professional advice for your house, and we can only tell you what your job needs once we've seen it.

This site may link to other websites. We don't control those sites and aren't responsible for what's on them. Please don't misuse the site, copy its content for commercial use or try to interfere with how it works.

Resolving a disagreement

If you have a problem with our work or a bill, call us first. Most issues get sorted out quickly once we talk, and we'll work with you in good faith to find a fair fix.

If we can't settle it between us, either of us may bring the matter in small claims court or in the state or federal courts with jurisdiction over Oceanside, California, unless your written agreement says otherwise.

Which law applies

These terms, this website and any work we do are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to rules that would apply another state's law.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time, and the version posted on this page is the one in effect. If you've signed an agreement with us, the terms in place when you signed apply to that job.
